"Ilana Breitman’s costumes are perfect….their entire team, are gems in the rough. Catch them now, so you can say you 'knew them when.'"

For Thyestes
Columbia Daily Spectator
"The spectacular costumes, designed by Ilana Breitman, BC/JTS ’13, evoke the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century circus…there is nothing left to do but offer wholehearted applause to what is quite probably the best production this reviewer has ever seen on campus."
Didaskalia 10 (2013)

Michael Goyette
"Thyestes is full of artistic subtleties that cannot be fully appreciated with only one viewing, as was my experience. With regard to its creativity, and its occasional blurring of the line between moods of tragedy and comedy, the production takes on an almost Euripidean spirit of inventiveness. These imaginative elements are refreshing, yet at the same time they never steer too far from the sense of the Senecan text… One only wishes that a theatrical run longer than three nights were possible, as I am certain that repeated viewings would reward the viewer with new insights and continued enjoyment."

For Hamlet
Examiner
"Voltemand, charged with taking important papers out of the country, is a woman in spike heels and expecting. Lean In has nothing on this production"
Truly Arts
"Though the run is now over, we’ll definitely check out the creative talent behind the production in the future... with effective costumes [by] Ilana Breitman"
For The Owl Answers
BWOG
"As the show ended, the audience sat in silence for a moment before breaking into applause. That moment of silence as we all returned to reality was necessary, it seemed, for everyone in the room. We had just witnessed something deeply, intensely personal"
For Candide
BWOG
"Full of nonstop laughs and smiling positivity, audience members couldn’t not enjoy it. Despite being a “nightmare” to stage and perform, the cast and crew pulled out all the stops to make this the best of all possible college Candides."
